about

Ambulance have consolidated their place as two of the most important electronica producers in Ireland. This collaboration with Dublin-based dub producers, da Paramedics, brings a fresh hue to an established act.

Ambulance, with a previous release on Planet-µ under their belt and another in the pipeline, have received airplay from the likes of John Peel, Plaid, Donal Dineen, and Ian O’Brien. With a constant progression of sound, Ambulance’s music is beautifully complicated; ranging from deep, full-bodied bass through smacking, punching snares to almost inaudible high-end blips, leaving no aural stone unturned. Bringing international recognition to the country, Ambulance’s increasing popularity, boundless energy and passion for their art, render them pioneers for Irish electronic musicians.

While Ambulance’s tunes serve as epic melodic journeys, da Paramedics act as their antithesis. Relentless dub rhythms and continuo basslines create an impression of stillness, which is contradicted by the chaos of a multitude of layers in perpetual motion.

Of the nine songs on this single, the title track Whindie is taken from Synthetic Allsorts compilation album (FSYNTH002), and bonus tracks include Ambulance’s first EP on FES and remixes of Whindie by – Max Tundra, Decal, and Spectac. These remixes are some of the best work we’ve heard from these artists. The CD is brought to a conclusion with a masterful 20 minute composition by da Paramedics.
